Back UpAmherst Public Library   673-2288.

Harpist and singer Aine Minogue will perform at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8 at the Amherst Town Library. Her performance, "To Welcome in the Spring," will capture the essence of Celtic music with music, song, and poetry appropriate to the season and will welcome in the spring. Minogue was born in Borrisokane County Tipperary and began playing the harp at age 12. Since moving to New England, she has continued to concentrate on the traditional music of her homeland and adding her own creativity to the pieces she plays. She has played for former Irish Presidents and Prime Ministers and is a regular performer at folk festivals and concerts throughout the country. Numerous tracks of her music appear on compilations for such labels as BMG, Virgin and Putumayo in varying styles. She has six solo recordings on several labels including RCA Victor/BMG. This program is part of the “Something for Everyone @ Your Library” series for adults and is free and open to the public.
